Britain’s biggest coal producer, UK Coal reported a lower production than expected, prompting the company’s stock declined in the period of seven months. The problem companies face is a deep mine production. Mining company expects coal production could reach 6.2 million tons, but the company can only produce 5.7 to 5.8 million tons of coal through December.
UK Coal is one of the few mining companies, whose shares have fallen this year, underperforming the UK mining index.
UK Coal reported, “The production for three weeks in each of the mining companies has been materially lower than anticipated. surface mine production remains in line with previous expectations of about 1.4 million tons. Shares in the company fell as much as 17 percent to 69 pence by 1410 GMT “the company said.
