Vedanta Resources Approved Investment Development Of Copper Mine Production Capacity In India

copper-mine-explorationThe biggest mining company, Vedanta Resources to plan the expansion of development increased annual copper mine production capacity. Companies targeting copper mine production capacity can reach 800,000 tons per year. To support the achievement of mining production targets of copper, Vedanta has agreed to invest the development of copper mine production capacity in India. Funds needed to double copper production in India worth USD 500 million.

The statement said that “The Company will be one of the largest single location custom copper smelters in the world with a total smelting capacity of 800,000 tonnes per annum. The project, which includes a 160 MW captive power project is due to be commissioned in mid 2011 and will be funded through a mixture of debt and internal funds.

As per report, last week Vedanta posted strong output gains in most metals in the 3 months to end September and forecast higher production in its fiscal H2.
